2. What data we process

When you sign up for the Spielwiese newsletter (“Insider”), we process your email address and – if provided – your district and language, in order to send you regular activities and events for families in Berlin. Signing up is voluntary and based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The data is stored in our database (Supabase); emails are delivered via the service provider Resend. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email – your data is then deleted.

Course requests & event submissions

When you request a course place or submit an event via a form, you voluntarily provide details such as your name and email address. These are forwarded by email (service provider Resend) to the relevant provider or to us so that your request can be handled.

User accounts

If you create an account, we process the data you provide (e.g. email address, name) via our authentication and database provider Supabase, in order to give you access to features such as your saved list and Kita applications.

Google Maps Platform

We use the Google Maps Platform (Places API, Photos API) to display place data and photos. Search queries (e.g. category, district) are forwarded server-side to Google. Our server's IP address may be transmitted to Google in the process. No personal user data is sent directly to Google.

Airtable (Classifieds)

Users who post a classified ad voluntarily provide: item name, price, category, size (optional), neighbourhood, contact email, and an optional photo. This data is stored in Airtable and automatically deleted after the listing expires (28 days).

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (provider: Google Ireland Ltd.) to analyse website usage in anonymised form. Google Analytics is only activated once you consent via the cookie banner (Consent Mode – disabled by default). With your consent, cookies are set and usage data (e.g. pages visited, approximate location) is processed. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner.

In addition, we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (provider: Vercel Inc., USA) for cookieless, anonymous measurement of page views and loading times.

Hosting & server logs

When the site is accessed, the hosting provider automatically records server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type). These logs are used solely for error analysis and deleted after at most 30 days.

3. Cookies

Spielwiese sets no cookies of its own for tracking purposes. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only if you consent via the cookie banner; Vercel Analytics works without cookies. No analytics cookies are set without your consent.

4. Sharing with third parties

Data is shared only with the service providers necessary to operate the site: Google (Maps, Analytics), Supabase (database & user accounts), Resend (email delivery), Airtable (classifieds) and Vercel (hosting & analytics). No data is shared for advertising purposes.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in every email. For other requests (e.g. deleting a classified listing or an account), contact hallo@spielwiese.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.

6. Legal basis

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a functional website) and on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) – in particular for the newsletter sign-up, consent to analytics cookies, and data submitted voluntarily via forms (classifieds, course requests, events).
